Description
White with a difference
This style was first pioneered by Robert Mondavi in 1968. Fumé Blanc is a unique white wine style using barrel fermentation and lees stirring to achieve a creamy and silky texture with soft underlying toasty flavours balanced with good acid.
The high-quality sauvignon fruit was picked later to achieve a richer wine style. The winemaker then barrel fermented the fruit followed by regular lees stirring adding beautiful complexity to this elegant wine. Serve slightly chilled.
