In my last newsletter, I introduced you to one of the wine surprises from the challenging 2020 vintage, the first release of Fumé Blanc, an accidental white that became the favourite last summer.

But 2020 delivered an even bigger (wine) surprise. The tiny crop from the new hillside vineyard blended with sangiovese fruit from the old block turned out to be our Golden Child. It is very humbling to share that the 2020 Sedona Estate Sangiovese topped the sangiovese class with Gold at the 2022 London Wine Competition.

Treasure this drop for special occasions, if you find the 2020 vintage in your cellar.

Of course, our sangiovese didn’t travel alone to London to be tasted, judged and awarded. Many of you love this wine and won’t be surprised to learn that the 2019 Reserve Shiraz was awarded Silver at the 2022 London Wine Competition. Luckily, we still have few cases left to sell!!
