After a long search for the ideal vineyard site, the foundation for Sedona Estate was laid with the purchase of our 52 acre property in the picturesque valley of Murrindindi. We started our vineyard from the ground up transforming the land into a fully operational viticultural enterprise. First Cabernet vines were planted in 1998, followed by Merlot in 1999. The plantings of Shiraz and Sangiovese in 2001 completed the first ten acres of vines.
The first harvest for the Sedona Estate label dates back to 2003. The early vintages laid a strong foundation for the young wine brand. Despite the vineyard’s youth, the wines delivered complexity and pure varietal flavours. The high quality of these wines didn’t go unnoticed; Australia’s leading wine authority James Halliday ranked the young wine business amongst the ten best new Australian wineries in 2007.
